Paintout, Studley Park Boat House, 2nd March 2013

Julia's view of the Boathouse

It was Saturday, 2nd of March 2013 where a group of about 15 met at the Kew Boathouse, Studley Park at 1:30pm. We spread out and staked our claim on the beautiful scenery before us. Some elected to cross the river and take in the charm of the boat house, the hustle bustle of the café and people hiring boats. Others focused on the activities on the river.

In 30 plus heat we all battled on to stay in the shade, stay cool, paint/draw in the ever changing light and wind conditions and deal with curious onlookers giving us advice on how to make the painting look better!

After two hours we got a chance to connect over a cuppa at the café and share our experience. We all agreed we had great fun and were looking forward to the next plein air session at Blackburn Lake.
