Our opening night of ‘Our Amazing Animal Friends’ exhibition at the Box
Hill Community Arts Centre was a great success. We had 48 entries in two
categories: realist works and contemporary works. First, second, third and
fourth prizes for each category, and six highly commended awards were
given with a special President's Award for two outstanding junior artists.
Whitehorse Arts Association were proud to donate $500.00 to the RSPCA. A
cheque was presented to RSPCA representatives Penny Coulson and Rubin
Itman and we placed RSPCA donation boxes at the exhibition. City of
Whitehorse Mayor Cr. Bill Bennett opened the show, and we were very
pleased to see Cr. Blair Barker dog lover and Cr. Raelene Carr enjoying
the show. Thank you to Whitehorse Council for a grant for the venue, and
thank you to the staff at Box hill Community Arts Centre for their help
and support for the show.
A big thank you to Dot and Colin Browne
