Loretto Madden
Loretto Madden
Loretto has been involved in art & crafts for many years, and has studied watercolour with some of Melbourne’s well known artists. She worked in
architectural practices over a period of eighteen years - an invaluable experience for an artist providing her with extensive exposure to colour,
shape and form.
As a long-standing member of Whitehorse Arts Association Loretto has been editor of the Association’s newsletter and a member
of the Art Show Committee for a number of years. She welcomes opportunities to regularly attend demonstrations by noted artists and has
travelled to many parts of Victoria, interstate and overseas to paint on site. She has received awards from Whitehorse Arts Association for her Art.
Eileen McCormack
I joined Whitehorse Arts Association when I retired.
During this time I have been a student of Nell Frysteen, studying pastel as well as a term in
watercolour.
I love the textures that can be achieved with pastels as well as the intensity of the colour. I also
love to work in oils.
Eileen made significant contributions to WAA as president, vice-president and general comittee member.
Tony had a very artistic mother who often told him as a child growing up, that he could draw very well, and that he
should pursue this talent, and of course, this advice was completely ignored! until....
Tonys' personal introduction to art began around 16 years ago, in Warrandyte. The Northover family had moved into
Warrandyte about 3 years earlier. In 1998, at the age of 42, Tony's artistic journey began in a small Warrandyte
Gallery, which unfortunately closed just 12 months later, but by now Tony was 'hooked' and was further encouraged
by the 'Highly Commended' award he had just received in a local exhibition. He very quickly started classes with
the local, well known & awarded artist, Walter Magilton, and this helped to fuel his passion. Tony has now been
tutored by many award winning watercolour artists such as David Taylor, Malcolm Beattie, and Greg Allen to name a
few!

other work by Tony please visit his website at:

him for a visit to his 'White Dog Studio' in Warrandyte (The white dogs dont bite!) Peter Dougherty in a Diamond
Valley Leader article: 'Concentrating on painting, he uses strong areas of colour to create compositions that, at
their best, take the painting beyond the bounds of the subject matter.'
A J Northover was president of the Whitehorse Arts Association for the last three years, and a strong committee
member before that, and was instrumental in establishing the very successful monthly demonstrations that continue
to this day. He is currently a full member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, and a member of the
Watercolour Society of Australia/Victoria, and finally, a member of The Victorian Artists Society, but above all,
he likes to think of himself as 'A Warrandyte Artist!' His works have been sold to collectors throughout Australia,
and overseas (Germany and Ireland).
